For years, CPU 24/7 has successfully provided “CAE as a service”, not only for industrial companies, but also for scientific institutes and universities.

We would like to share our knowledge in CAE and HPC with the next generation, in particular the use of certain simulation tools, such as ANSYS or Star-CCM+, in a dedicated Engineering Cloud.

This way we can prove how innovation driving, inspiring and effective numerical simulations can be and how easy and time saving the concept already is - not only in comparison to real tests in wind tunnels or water channels. We are convinced that today’s generation of students will be the first for whom cloud-based computing power is not primarily about security and expense, but about modern technology with unlimited opportunities - including huge aha and wow-effects.

Formula Student

The Formula Student is an international design contest for university teams, which has been held annually since 2006. Within one year the teams from all over the world design and build a one seated, technologically sophisticated racing car, in which they race each other. The team with the best combination of design and racing performance, financial strategy and sales arguments wins

In doing so, the students can show their acquired engineering skills and knowledge in a competition and simultaneously develop a deep understanding on various levels. Now, approximately 100 German and over 500 international teams participate in this competition.

The competition is divided into three distinct categories:

  • Formula Student Combustion (combustion engine)
  • Formula Student Electric (electric drive)
  • Formula Student Driverless (autonomous driving).
